We believe in one God existing in three persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. One in nature, attributes, power and glory.
We believe that the universe and all it contains was created by the direct act of God.
We believe God, in his desire to live in a relationship with us, became a human being. Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, fully God and fully human. Through his death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, Jesus made it possible for all people to live in a relationship with God. We believe we are justified on the basis of his shed blood and are saved by grace through faith, wholly apart from human merit or works.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the presence of Jesus Christ among us. Through Him God loves us, empowers us and lives in us. The Spirit gives gifts to all believers. We believe in all the gifts of the Spirit and encourage their use.
We believe that the Bible is the God-breathed, God-inspired Word of God. Through it God reveals Himself to us. The Old and New Testaments are the final authority upon which we base our faith.
We believe that the Church, be it a local congregation or the worldwide fellowship of believers, is the body of Christ. As His Body, we are called upon to worship Him, serve Him and be the vehicle through which the Good News, in its fullness, is shared with the world.
We believe in and practice the Scriptural ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is a living symbol of our belief in and identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and our death to sin and resurrection into a transformed life. The Lord’s Supper is a living symbol of the atoning sacrifice of Christ and a celebration of the love and forgiveness God has extended to us in Jesus, his Son, as well as participation in the hope of the soon-to-be-fulfilled Kingdom of God.
We believe in the worth and dignity of every human being because we are created in God’s image. Our dignity is founded on his love for us, not on our own accomplishments.
We believe God’s image in us has been broken by sin, separating us from God. We joyfully proclaim the Good News that because of Jesus Christ, forgiveness is possible for all, healing and restoring the broken image of God.
The Return of Christ
We believe in and anticipate the return of Jesus Christ. Though we don’t know the day or the hour, we joyfully proclaim his future return, and we encourage one another to make the most of life today.
